OUR DAHABIYA
FACILITIES
Seven cabins, two types
Fleur offers a quiet and personal stay on the Nile. The boat is built in the authentic style of the old dahabiyas and the modern touches are there for comfort alone. They never take away from the feeling of travelling on a traditional boat between Luxor and Aswan.
Choose from our two cabin types:
- 2 Suites with Terrace. King bed and a private terrace on the nile
- 5 Standard Double Cabins. King bed or twins, your choice, with a side river view
Every cabin has an en-suite bathroom with hot water, individually controlled air conditioning, WiFi and a window on the river. All cabins are non-smoking.
Cooked on board, every day
There is one cook and one kitchen on Fleur and everything is made from scratch. Our menus are oriental with a variety of local Egyptian dishes. The cook shops in the villages we pass so what lands on the table changes with the season and with wherever we happen to be moored.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included along with (tea, coffee, cola and sprite Etc.) through the day. Between October and May most meals are served on deck, which is the point of eating on a boat this size.
Tell us before you sail if you eat differently and it is simply handled. We can accommodate vegetarian and dairy free is no trouble. On a boat with one kitchen it is a word with the cook rather than a form to fill in.
The heart of life on board
The sun deck runs the full length of Fleur and is where the day actually happens. Morning coffee in the soft light, temples drifting past in the afternoon, stars overhead at night with no town close enough to dim them.
Shaded seating runs along the deck with the restaurant at the front. At the back there is a bar, a smoking area and chaise lounge chairs.
Indoors, when you want it
Below deck is the saloon. Air conditioned, with soft seating and books about Egypt. It is where meals move on the few evenings the wind turns, and where the guide gives the briefing for the next day's temples.
Seven cabins only
